What was the solution? The Agency chose a web based product developed by EMSystems, LLC called EMResource. This multi-purpose platform provides decision-makers with valuable real time information. During multiple patient incidents, hospital capacity bed information is collected and relayed to both the local dispatch center as well as the on-scene medical authority. This information can be provided within two-three minutes. Much faster than our other process that usually takes up to 10 minutes or more. EMResource is backed up with multiple servers and has provided our system with years of reliable service.”

We update the system daily with Emergency Department status, document when scanners are down or resources are not available in a hospital. We realized how valuable this program was to us during Hurricanes Katrina and Rita...”

During the evacuation of hospitals on the Gulf Coast the system was used to determine the number of available beds throughout the East Texas area. This changed on an hourly basis and the real time communication of this information was invaluable in the evacuation process.
